Mission: Guatemala

Read the definitive guide from Casas por Cristo (https://casasporcristo.org/). This will be your bible and most complete guide to the mechanics of the trip. Casas organizes the trip and collaborates with the local communities. We bring the muscle and open minds. JSTLV is proud to partner with such a well run NGO. Their executive director is also a member of the JSTLV board of directors.

Fundraising

We are grateful that we are able to offset the individual fundraising goal of $2,500 because of several generous donations to JSTLV to support this trip. Each participant is asked to raise $500 to cover a portion of the cost of construction materials, travel, room, board, and sightseeing. Any excess monies, JSTLV will pay-it-forward to the next building project.

Fundraising is a key component for nonprofits to realize their mission. We’ve partnered with a phenomenal and easy to use fundraising platform called Classy. We’re encouraging our participants to setup individual fundraising pages on Classy to make asking and receiving donations much easier. Additionally, we have the capability to setup team fundraising pages that individual fundraising participants can join. The benefit of team fundraising pages is that it allows for groups of participants to team up, help each other fundraise, create some friendly competition, and aggregate the monies raised. Classy also provides easy to use templates and social media solutions, payment processing, and a series of other valuable tools to help make each fundraiser successful.
